MVL wrestlers, coach of the year released
The Muskingum Valley League announced its top wrestling honors on Wednesday.
Sheridan senior Noah Barnett and New Lex senior Luke Shively shared the wrestler of the year award after both finished seventh in the state, and New Lex?s Dave Ratliff was named coach of the year.

Green Valley leagues looking for teams
The Precision Fabricating & Stamping Thursday night league will have an organizational meeting at 6 p.m. Thursday, March 22, at Green Valley Golf Club. At least one representative from each team is urged to attend.
The Tuesday Night Rice/Galloway Optometry League is also looking for a couple of teams.

Area combine to be held on March 25
Total Athletic Development Sports (TadSports) will hold an area combine for area athletes on Sunday, March 25 at The Fieldhouse, 300 Sunrise Center, Zanesville 43701.
This is for any Ohio High School football player interested in playing in college and provides an opportunity to get tested in standard combine events before participating in a college combine.
Cost is $40 day of the event and $30 if pre-registered. All pre-registration athletes will receive a snack and sports drink.
Registration starts at 2 p.m. with the combine from 2:30 to 6 p.m. Each group will get two attempts at each testing station. Players can also receive coaching specific to combine events for an additional fee of $10.

Y-City Midget League baseball holding sign-ups
Sign-ups for Y-City Midget League baseball will be held from noon to 2 p.m. Saturday and Sunday, March 17 and 18 at the clubhouse from.
Registration is open to all players ages 5-12 as of April 30. Cost is $40 per player with discounts available for multiple players in the same immediate family. All new players please bring a copy of your birth certificate when registering.
All 11-12 year old teams will play in the Muskingum County League and the 9-10 year old teams will play games at other youth leagues.

Y-City Challenge 8-ball tournament this weekend
The Y-City Challenge 8-ball tournament, which benefits the Special Olympics, will be held Saturday, March 17 at Prophets Park in Zanesville.
Doors open at 7 a.m., and the calcutta begins at 9 a.m. Entry fee is $25, and no pro players are allowed.
